Hi everyone, Well I’m new to this board. I’m an orchid grower and I decided to expand my garden to Bonsia’s. I ordered a lot of seeds to get started and I was wondering is there a secret to getting the seeds to grow? The temps, soaking, moisture, sun ??????? I really want this to be a good outcome to a big addition to my greenhouse so any info would be great. I have 3 places to grow them and they are mt greenhouse, I have an incubator, and I have my screened in porch. I have never grown Bonsia’s from seeds ( the adult ones are hard enough for me to grow): dry: I have 3 of them 1 is a great ponytail, 1 is a money tree, And my newest one well…… Not quite sure what it is I bought it at an orchid sale. It was really pretty when I got it. full bloom with tiny white flowers all over it and well….. I groomed it up the other day because the leaves were like yellow and brown and falling off. I brought it indoors because it was down in the 40 here in Florida and put it on a humidity tray and it looks better but the leaves are still turning yellow and brown. (Could it be the winter season)???
propagating Bonsia tree seeds
Your tree you don’t know what it is is a Serissa or a Fuken tea tree, it all depends on what types of seeds you have , most seeds just needs to be soaked in water the ones that sink in 2 days to the bottom you will plant in damp soil, seeds like a warm soil to grow so try giving some bottom heat to the seeds you will want to transplant when you see 4 leaves and not the 2 starter leaves, some seeds with have to be put in a cold place for 2 or 3 months before you plant them, but the seeds will not grow very well in Florida unless you live north like by Jacksonville’s Florida where the winter gets colder…
